Dear Partners in Education,
The Alpine Education Foundation (AEF) is a volunteer, non-profit organization consisting of parents, educators, and community leaders concerned with maintaining, enhancing, and improving the education of our children in our schools. We are working to raise funds for the Alpine area schools (including our new high school, when appropriate) in order to sustain, improve and stimulate new educational opportunities beyond the scope of the regular school budgets. Our goal is not to replace public funding but to supplement it in order to fund programs, projects, and when needed, salaries, that are not funded by the state budget allocation.
We all have seen the news regarding our education funding. To be succinct, it is not enough to pay our property taxes and hope our schools can maintain the very high standards of excellence that we are so proud of here in Alpine. We must step up and help and AEF was formed to do just that. AEF has already raised nearly five times our first-year goal in fundraising and we have already awarded two grants to two school PTAs. Your support this year will directly impact students at every school within the district. AEF's priority is to mitigate the effects of class size increases by supporting technology use in the classroom, enhancing professional development, and supplementing teacher support for increased small group and one-on-one instruction. We are also working on increasing our ability to award future grants and building an endowment fund.
In order to accomplish these goals, we need every family to join our efforts. Since each family’s ability to contribute varies within our District, we welcome and accept all monetary contributions. Our goal is to get 100% of our families contributing at whatever level they can afford. AEF is your opportunity to ensure your children continue to receive the finest education, as together we forge strong ties for a strong education. Your donation is tax deductible!
AEF suggests a contribution of $100.00 a year or $8.33 a month; that is around a quarter a day! If we receive this amount from every family with children attending Alpine schools, we can achieve our goals to aid in our children’s educations. While this program is completely voluntary, its success relies on you and the overall level of community support and participation. Whether you can give $5 or $5,000, your gift makes a difference in the resources and opportunities available to our students. Please return your donation form by the end of the year for tax benefits or January 15th at the latest.
