Wheel Of Experts
“Wheel of Experts” is a multiple pathway program that brings STEAM based learning to the classroom. Educational fun
Punkin’ Chunkin’
Every year students gather for Punkin’ Chunkin’. Using knowledge of the history, math and physics of the trebuchet (the Medieval siege engine) students will practice teamwork while learning wood handling, hardware and the use of hand tools
Unlike other catapults that rely on tensioned arms, the trebuchet utilizes a large counterweight at one end of a long throwing arm attached to a pivoting frame. At the other end of the throwing arm is a sling for holding the projectile. To operate a trebuchet, the counterweight is raised, and the projectile is placed in the sling. When the counterweight is released, it drops, pulling the throwing arm upward and launching the projectile with great force and accuracy.
